1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to provide a better user experience, and to give website owners useful information about how their site is being used.

Cookies can be “session” cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or “persistent” cookies, which remain on your device until they expire or you delete them.

TrueViQ is operated by Digitally Inherent Pvt Ltd, a product of conduit488.ai. This policy explains which cookies we use, when we ask for your consent, and how you can control them.

2. Our Cookie Banner & Your Consent

When you first visit TrueViQ, you will see a cookie banner at the bottom of the page. This banner asks for your consent to set analytics and advertising cookies. You can:

  • Accept all — allow essential, analytics, and advertising cookies
  • Reject all — allow only essential cookies (the platform still works fully)

Before you make a choice, no analytics or advertising cookies are set. We use Google Consent Mode v2 to ensure third-party tags respect your decision from the very first page load.

Changing your mind: Use the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer to re-open the banner at any time. You can also clear the_tvq_consent cookie from your browser, which causes the banner to appear again on your next visit.

No consent required for essential cookies. Under UK PECR, essential cookies (such as login authentication and your consent choice itself) are allowed without explicit consent because they are strictly necessary for the service to function.

3. Cookie Categories

a) Essential Cookies (Always Active)

These cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to function. They enable core features such as keeping you logged in, remembering your preferences, and recording your cookie-consent choice. They do not require consent under UK GDPR and PECR.

  • Supabase Authentication (sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token): Manage your secure login session so you remain authenticated as you use the platform.
  • Consent record (_tvq_consent): Remembers your cookie-banner choice so we don't ask every time you visit.
  • First-party session (_tvq_sid): A randomly generated session identifier used for first-party funnel analytics (understanding how visitors move through the signup journey). Contains no personal information and is never shared with third parties.

✓ Essential cookies cannot be disabled without affecting core functionality. They do not track you across websites or collect information for advertising.

b) Analytics Cookies (Consent Required)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how parents use TrueViQ — which pages are most useful, where visitors drop off, and how our platform performs across devices. Analytics cookies are only set if you click Accept all on our cookie banner.

  • _ga: Distinguishes unique visitors (2-year expiry)
  • _ga_MSHPDZJGBZ: GA4 session state and campaign information (2-year expiry)

Privacy safeguards: We do not share child profile data, learning progress, or any personal account details with Google Analytics. IP addresses are truncated. We do not enable Google Signals or cross-device tracking.

c) Advertising Cookies (Consent Required)

We use Google Ads to measure the effectiveness of our advertising (whether someone who clicked our ad went on to sign up) and, from time to time, to show parents relevant TrueViQ ads on Google Search. Advertising cookies are only set if you click Accept all on our cookie banner.

  • _gcl_au: Google Ads conversion linker — associates ad clicks with signups (90-day expiry)
  • Other Google Ads cookies (such as _gcl_aw, _gcl_dc) may be set depending on which Google Ads features are in use — see the table below for the full list.

Children are never targeted. Our advertising is directed only at parents and adult visitors. Child profiles, learning data, and anything collected inside the platform is never used for advertising.

d) Privacy-first Analytics (No Cookies)

We also use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service that operates entirely without cookies, local storage, or fingerprinting. It collects anonymous, aggregated page-view data. Because it sets no cookies, it does not require consent.

We do not use: Social media tracking cookies (Facebook Pixel, etc.), data-broker cookies, cross-site advertising networks, or any other cookies beyond those listed above.

5. Children and Cookies

TrueViQ is designed for children aged 9–11. We take our obligations under the ICO Age Appropriate Design Code (Children's Code) seriously when it comes to cookie usage:

  • The banner is shown to parents. Children interact with TrueViQ from their own child profile, which is managed by a parent. Cookie-consent choices are made by the parent on their own browser.
  • No targeted ads, ever. Children never see behavioural advertising on TrueViQ. Our Google Ads usage is restricted to parent-facing acquisition — measuring whether a parent who clicked an ad went on to sign up — and is never linked to child profiles.
  • Child data stays inside the platform. Learning progress, question responses, session data, and any other information about a child is never sent to Google Analytics, Google Ads, or any other third-party advertising service.
  • No profiling for commercial purposes. We never use cookies to profile children for advertising, product recommendations, or lead generation.
  • Privacy by default. Until you explicitly accept the cookie banner, only essential cookies are set. You can use TrueViQ fully without ever accepting non-essential cookies.

6. How to Manage Cookies

Via our cookie banner:

  • Accept or reject non-essential cookies when you first visit TrueViQ
  • Change your choice at any time by clearing the _tvq_consent cookie in your browser, which makes the banner reappear on your next visit

Via your browser:

Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from logging in or using core features of TrueViQ.

  • Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data

For more detailed guidance on managing cookies across different browsers and devices, visit aboutcookies.org.

Opting out of Google services specifically:

7. Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how parents use TrueViQ. GA4 is operated by Google LLC and uses cookies that are only set when you accept them via our banner.

What GA4 collects (with your consent):

  • Pages visited and time on site
  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • General geographic region (country / city-level, never precise location)
  • How you arrived at our site (search engine, ad campaign, direct visit)
  • Conversion events (e.g., parent account sign-up)

What GA4 never collects from us:

  • Names, email addresses, or any personal account information
  • Child profile data, year group, or learning progress
  • Question responses, session details, or any content generated inside the platform
  • Precise location or home address

Privacy settings we apply:

  • IP anonymisation (IP addresses are truncated before storage)
  • Google Signals disabled (no cross-device tracking)
  • Google Consent Mode v2 enforced (no cookies set before your consent)
  • Data retention set to 14 months (Google's shortest available option)

8. Google Ads

We run Google Ads campaigns to help parents discover TrueViQ. Google Ads uses cookies to measure whether someone who clicked one of our ads later signed up for a TrueViQ account. This measurement is essential to knowing which ads work and spending our marketing budget responsibly.

How it works (with your consent):

  • When you click a Google Ad and land on TrueViQ, a _gcl_au cookie is set to record the ad click.
  • If you then create an account, our systems fire a conversion event that tells Google the ad worked. Google receives no personal information about you — only that a conversion happened.
  • We may also use Google Ads remarketing to show you TrueViQ ads on Google Search or partner sites if you visited our site but didn't sign up. You can opt out of Google's ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.

What we never do:

  • Share child profile data or any in-platform activity with Google Ads
  • Show ads to children or on child-facing pages of the platform
  • Target ads based on a child's performance, SEND profile, or any sensitive data
  • Sell advertising space on our site to third parties

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this cookie policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page when we make changes.

If we make significant changes to how we use cookies, we will notify registered users by email and prompt you to review your consent choices via the cookie banner.
